Satellite Internet systems work in areas where DSL and Cable Internet and other high speed services cannot reach, in fact... satellite Internet systems will work almost anywhere that has a clear southern view of the sky, or at least a large enough hole through the trees to have a clear "line-of-site" to the satellite similar to that required for satellite television services.
Satellite Internet systems such as HughesNet and WildBlue can usually be mounted on solid south-facing wall of your home or business, while LinkStar, iDirect, and other larger Small Business and commercial satellite systems usually have to be mounted on a pole, non-penetrating roof mount or other approved mount located within the maximum cable run distance of 150'.
NOTE: We cannot mount the systems on steel siding, stucco, or other soft textured walls as the weight of the dish must be properly supported. We also cannot mount into wood shingles or metal roofing, however we do have some non-penetrating mounts that may work for your installation!
Do you think you may have a clear view to the southern sky from a south-facing wall or from a strategically placed pole-mount or other mount ?
