Satellite Dish Heaters / Antenna De-icing Systems
We have the largest selection of satellite dish heaters on the market today including Hot Shot, Ice Zapper, Walton De-ice and others! Satellite Dish Heaters prevent snow and ice buildup on your satellite dish antenna which can block your satellite signal.
Don’t let this happen to you…
This is a HughesNet Raven .74m Ka Band Satellite Internet dish full of snow! Of course the service was down, but more importantly, the weight of the snow on a dish could easily create the need for a service call by a technician to re-align the antenna which would cost you $125 + ! Protect your dish and enjoy trouble free service and save $$ with a satellite dish heater or satellite dish cover from Montana Satellite Supply! We feature our very own line of MTSAT Satellite Dish Covers are designed specifically to help prevent snow and ice buildup on satellite television and satellite Internet antennas!
Satellite dish heaters typically stick to the front or back of the satellite dish and turn on and off when needed to prevent snow and ice buildup. We carry some “Always-On” models for some applications and “Thermostatically Controlled” models for other applications. The satellite dish heaters are available for almost any antenna size on the market today! Some of our 1.2m and larger satellite dish heaters and heated antennas have both thermostatic and moisture sensors to prevent the heater from turning on when it is not necessary!
We get asked all of the time if our satellite dish heaters affect signal quality! We can answer that easily by saying: We’ve been selling and installing satellite dish heaters for over 15 years! We would be out of business by now if satellite dish heaters were not effective at helping reduce snow and ice buildup on your satellite dish! That being said, you will probably not even notice 1 or 2 points of signal loss when you install one of our satellite dish heaters, which is hardly enough to harm your signal as much as it helps maintain the signal!
We also offer satellite dish covers as well! Satellite Dish Covers create a smooth slick surface over the face of the dish that snow and ice slide off of! No wiring, no electricity! Check them out here!
Here are a few of the satellite dish antenna heaters and de-icing systems that we offer! We also offer complete new and used heated satellite dish antennas from Skyware Global and Prodelin!
Ice Zapper Universal Satellite Dish Heaters
Ice Zapper Universal Satellite Dish Antenna Heaters have been on the market for several years! The Ice Zappers only work on metal antennas up to 31″ round. They are a 110 volt heater that should be plugged into a protected outlet next to your satellite dish antenna. Two pads stick on the back of the antenna and heat up to prevent snow and ice buildup on the antenna. There are currently two models available! One is the new Ice Zapper 2 “Always On” heater, which is on whenever it is plugged in and the other is the original Ice Zapper w/ Thermostat that is “thermostatically controlled to turn on and off when needed. If you’re not sure if one of the Ice Zappers is right for you, check out our “DISHES” page to view photos and links to the covers and other parts, supplies and accessories for your satellite dish antenna! Hot Shot Satellite Dish Heaters
Hot Shot “hotshot” Satellite Dish Antenna Heaters have been on the market and used by professional installers for high-end residential and commercial applications for many years! They have become very popular lately once they were introduced to the residential markets as they work on both metal and fiber antennas. They are the best solution on the market (in our opinion) for preventing snow and ice build-up on your satellite dish antenna. They are a 110 volt heater that has a power supply that must be mounted in a dry location. There is a 100′ roll of low voltage cord that connects the power supply to the antenna. The power supply converts the power from 110 volts AC to 18 volts AC or 24 volts AC Power Supply (depending on the model / size of the heater) You can also run the power from the power supply over an existing or new spare coaxial cable run to the antenna (although the fittings are not included to do this)! The Hot Shot Satellite Dish Heater is currently available in two models. The HS18NGRFKIT is an 18″ model designed for 18″ round up to 31″ round satellite antennas. The HSSLNGRFKIT is a 20″ tall x 28″ wide heater designed for the DirecTV Slimline satellite television antennas, but it also works on a variety of other antennas including the HughesNet .74m and .98m antennas, and Starband and WildBlue antennas. There is even an optional “Arm Element” available that can help keep snow from building up on the arm of the dish as well! Some people have even used them on 1.0m and 1.2m antennas with pretty good results. If you don’t know what dish you have, check out our “DISHES” page to view photos and links to the heaters and other parts, supplies and accessories for your antenna.
