TIVO or DVR (Digital Video Recorder) features are available (optional) that allow you to record your programs at the touch of a button and even pause live TV!  Most receivers will hold 100 - 300 hours of recordings.

 

HDTV - (High Definition Television) features are becoming the standard, offering superior picture quality to any High Definition Television.  HD Receivers are available (optional) and require an HD Programming Package (sold separately)!

 

Most satellite television companies will offer FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS Free Equipment to use and a Free Standard Professional Installation for up to 4 rooms in the home, however a credit check, credit card or debit card, and a 12, 18, or 24 month commitment to service is usually required to get the Free Offers.  Additional receivers, dual tuners, etc. usually require an additional fee ($ 4.99 - $ 5.99) every month for programming.

VOOM - Voom was a satellite television company offering strictly High Definition programming... now Voom programming is offered through Dish Network.

 

Free-to-Air - Free-to-Air satellite television seems to be a comeback of the old "C-band" style systems, however this time you can get similar programming on a smaller dish... typically 31" round... or larger depending on where you are located.  Once you invest in the initial equipment costs and installation, the rest is FREE... course with everything FREE... you never really know what you are going to get and / or how long it will last!  (Info coming soon!)
