VOIP (Voice over Internet), also known as Internet Telephone, Telephone over
Internet, etc. is revolutionizing communications by providing high speed
Internet customers with a telephone number and a landline style of "telephone"
communications. VOIP systems usually consist of a VOIP modem that simply plugs into a hub,
switch or router connected to your high speed Internet service that has a
standard telephone jack port or two that allows you to plug a standard corded or
cordless telephone into to get a dial tone that will allow you to place and
receive calls over the Internet to and from any telephone number. Other VOIP systems use a headset attached to your computer to place and
receive calls over an Internet connection. Many of the VOIP systems and services offer unlimited calling with no long
distance and include calling features such as Call Waiting, Three-way Calling,
Call Forwarding and other features that are commonly available with standard
telephone landlines. Some support faxing, while others do not. VOIP services require high speed Internet access in order to work properly.
VOIP services will work over some satellite Internet systems, some better than
others, so contact us for details!

Net2Phone - Now just $19.95
per month!
OUR OPINION: This is it... Net2Phone is our highest recommended VOIP
provider as it works better than others over HughesNet & LinkStar Satellite
Internet Systems. It works perfect with DSL and Cable Internet also. We've used Net2Phone over our 1.5mb x 256k LinkStar
Satellite Internet system and love it, even though we are having 1 - 2 second
delays on transmitting voice, but that's much better than the 3 - 9 second delay
that we've experienced over most other VOIP equipment and services. Click the

Packet8
Allows you to keep your current phone number or choose your
own area code, great international rates and a 30 day Money-Back guarantee.
Low startup costs... optional VOIP phone system available... Montana phone
numbers and more!
OUR OPINION: One of the best for use with satellite
Internet!
Vonage
The largest VOIP phone service provider with over a million
lines already in service.
OUR OPINION: We've found that Vonage is not our best choice for use with satellite
Internet systems, but will work with most 256k and higher upload plans... just
not as well as some of the other VOIP providers!
ViaTalk
Offers 24/7 technical support, great pricing and features
with service starting at just $ 9.95 a month with free equipment, setup and
activation!
OUR OPINION: We haven't tested yet! Let us know!
SunrisePhone.com
This is a new one to us, but we hear they are doing well!

Skype
Requires a headset and offers low cost Internet calling
features.
OUR OPINION: We've used it with the smaller satellite
service plans (HughesNet) with success!
Skype is probably the most affordable plan for OK service with HughesNet,
however you have to have a headset tied to a computer to make or receive calls
and you will experience delays and dropped calls from time to time.

Yahoo Voice
Requires a headset and offers low cost Internet calling
features.
