WildBlue satellite Internet systems consist of a satellite dish mounted on
wall mount, a pole or "ground" mount,
or on a non-penetrating roof mount. A transmitter / receiver
unit is located on the satellite dish arm, and an indoor unit
(modem) is placed somewhere inside. WildBlue satellite systems require a dual run of RG6
SCC coaxial cable (one
for transmit, one for receive) that connects the transmitter / receiver to the modem.
The modem then connects to a computer network hub or to a wired or wireless
router via an Ethernet connection. As with any high speed Internet service,
Internet speeds, bandwidths and capabilities depends upon the equipment and monthly service
package you choose.

WildBlue’s minidish (28”x 26”) both receives signals
from the WildBlue satellite, and sends signals from the customer up to the
satellite. Using the latest microwave receive and transmit technologies,
WildBlue offers a small, efficient minidish which can be mounted on a roof, wall
or via pole mount in the ground. WildBlue provides professional installation of
the WildBlue equipment which will take approximately 2-3 hours. WildBlue offers
a limited warranty on equipment.
A WildBlue modem is required to connect one or more
customer PCs to the WildBlue network. WildBlue uses standardized modem
technology based on the DOCSIS cable modem standards to offer a low-cost, small
satellite modem. WildBlue provides professional installation of the WildBlue
equipment which will take 2-3 hours. WildBlue offers a limited warranty on
equipment.
